The Thinning of the Veil: A Haiku & Sketch

A drawing of an archway with swirling colors transitioning from light to dark with text morphed like it's being pulled through the arch that reads "The veil is thinning / between this life and the next / shadowing the light"

The veil is thinning

between this life and the next

shadowing the light

I love the movement on the words here, it's so good. I've been enjoying your haiku so much! I admire anyone who can do the short pieces like this, and the sketches with them are divine.

Thank you!! I'm so glad you're enjoying them! I honestly can't say what makes me like haiku so much - when I first learned what they were back in elementary school, I thought it was so funny that a poem structure would be based on # of syllables - it seemed so nerdy and arbitrary, and I think that's what drew me in because they're almost ridiculous in their simplicity and they're just like me - nerdy and arbitrary?! :)
