The Sun Will Rise Again

Yes, tomorrow is a day worth seeing.

The sunrise will paint the sky bold colors,

Birds will sing, bring their dreams into being,

And you will greet the day that much stronger.

I know how it feels, stumbling through darkness,

Unsure of that next step, where it will lead.

But you forget the road behind, harshness

You weathered before and did not concede.

You are your own knight in shining armor,

Even if you don’t feel or look the part.

You’re looking outside yourself for answers,

But the gold you seek resides in your heart.

Once found, you will be completely sunlit,

So long as you are still here to see it.

This poem, along with my other one for "Moon", are part of a series I'm hoping to get published someday! Together, they represent each of the twenty-two Major Arcana in Tarot (which someone else is covering in their 13 Days 13 Shorts project -- you should take a look!).

Here, I wrote a sonnet about hope and bravery, imagining the speaker talking to a knight who does not see themselves that way. While a bit of a stretch, I thought it fit today's topic enough to post. Thanks for reading!
