Some black cats are so dark, you have to wonder. Are they actually black holes, so powerful that even light cannot escape them?
Lovely. I can imagine walking into the vale, stepping beyond the veil, and vailing to the creature stepped upon, as you did in your apology to the cat (vail is an archaic term for offering respect - just discovered it today and couldn't resist using it here).
