They say that the grass is always greener on the other side. But here in downtown, one floral shop is proving the same goes for Venus flytraps.

“It’s crazy! It’s like the biggest flower I’ve ever seen!”

Local resident Stephen Graham could barely believe his eyes when he saw the crown jewel of Mushnik’s Skid Row Florist.

“It’s like this huge freaking flower. It’s got a mouth and everything. I mean this thing is like seven freaking feet tall! What are they feeding this thing??”

Associate Professor Octavia Moreno-Garcia at the regional community college can’t wait to see the specimen herself.

“It’s not exactly... a botanical standard for a plant of this genus to take up this amount of space. Or sing. Like... I’m... as a scientist I’m kinda like freaking out to be honest.”

Singing or not singing, Stephen can’t get his chlorophyl of this plant cell-ebrity.

“I wouldn’t mind having one of my own. Don’t got much of a green thumb but I’m willing to try. I would really to care for something. Foster it. Help it grow.”

With business booming in Skid Row we can finally start to tackle a different city problem: finding that missing dentist.
