Creepy Botany

1 min read

High on a hill on the south bank of Scareborough lake sparkles the glass house that is the crowning jewel of Annette Toffana's Botanical Garden of Poison Plants. Here curious aspiring botanists can find the most extensive and beautiful collection of deadly plants in the world. If you come on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or alternating Saturdays Annette will give enthusiastic and extremely informative tours of the glass house and surrounding walled gardens. Here there are no fences or cages, no signs to warn you not to touch or ingest the specimens. Anette believes strongly that knowledge should always be shared and encourages all guests to take cuttings of their favorite plants along with detailed instructions on propagation, harvesting, and the best ways to extract and prepare the poisons.
