Spiderwebs

It’s heartbreaking to break a spiderweb

You worked so hard on it

Little spider

Every evening

As we’re finishing our day

You are swinging

Ever so carefully

Building a net

To catch your prey

And all through the night

You wait so patiently

Until the morning sun rises

And drew drops cling

Like little gems on your string

And the jewelry becomes steam

And our day begins

And when I break one of your webs

I just feel so terrible
