I love how there feels almost like a dissonance between the heaviness or seriousness of the words and the jaunty little Halloween decorations? Like I get that it's "happy ghosts" but there's still something more "real" about the words than the playfulness of the imagery, somehow. I love that.

This is absolutely beautiful on oh so many levels. I'm going to be thinking about this poem for a very long time.
