Family of Ghosts

This sprawling mansion is technically known as Chateau Perron. It was given this somewhat pretentious name by the patriarch of the family and founder of the town, Richard Perron. Despite being a new england bankers family he came to this little seaside valley to set himself up in the style of the French royalty he claimed to be descended from. But now everyone calls it Chateau Revenante.

No one really knows where the town's curse came from, but everyone agrees that the Perron family must have been at the center of it. After all, in all the fables and fairy tales, the curse is almost always the fault of the richest most powerful character. Richard Perron was also a terrible man, and the first ghost trapped here. What no one can agree on is who cursed him and the town with him, or how to end it.

Richard started the tradition of refusing to leave his rooms in the enormous mansion after his death, and so over the years the family has added wings, and towers, and additions to accomodate the generations of ghostly members who refuse to leave. Thus the Chateau has grown into a sprawling, eclectic collection of different architectural styles and building materials. Many people consider it nothing but an eyesore.
