Dear Dreadful Diary,

Today I decided to go through my closet in the hopes of finding a gift for my lovely new suitor. I stumbled upon my old jewelry box! After digging through countless ribbons and earrings and charms I came across an old necklace with the most beautiful blood red ruby amulet!! It seemed a little tarnished but I didn’t think he’d mind. He doesn’t seem to mind much actually, at least when it comes to me. He messages me quite often and asks to see me every hour. I’ve allowed him to visit for chunks of time but my time is precious! And while he is quite lovely I don’t think it’s wise to spend alllll of it with him. I have other things I’d like to accomplish before I must go! I can’t put a finger on what the amulet is supposed to do, I just remember it does /something/! It was related to a lover’s quarrel if I recall correctly, but hopefully it helps the current situation. It seems my previous charms were a bit too strong and the effects still haven’t quite worn off! He does seem a little off in comparison to previous suitors I’ve encountered but that’s most probably my fault. The constant need to always communicate and be near me is a bit too intense, even for my liking. When he came to my house he had an armful of flowers! It was quite sweet although they did look a bit rough, but the thought was there! He was also quite excited by my gift to him. His eyes seemed to light up and almost glow as he placed the amulet around his neck. It’s exactly the result I needed to see. We were able to spend just a few short hours of the evening telling stories about our days and admiring the fire together. And when it was time for him to leave he did not protest. Usually he complains and begs to stay for a few more hours but not tonight! I believe the amulet is working and my charms are beginning to fade. I’m quite excited to see how our relationship develops with all of the magic out of the way! That’s all for now.
